Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is eager to work with Joelinton.

The Brazilian striker has struggled to make an impact since his arrival last year.

But Howe feels he can work with Joelinton, stating: "From what I've seen in training he's a technical player with very good feet and he's intelligent.

"Unlocking that talent and ability are things I'm going to make assessments on but he's got a big part in our future here."

Howe's dedication to his new job means he hasn't had much time to see the city of Newcastle - barring a trip to St James' Park for a training session.

He said: "I can say with all honesty, I have seen the training ground and I've seen my hotel, I haven't seen Newcastle in the light yet.

"So tomorrow will actually be first day that I stepped into Newcastle when it's daylight."
