Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) counters in Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Tawau have resumed operations with 100 per cent workforce capacity starting Oct 20 in line with Sabah’s transition from Phase Two to Phase Three of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).

While the remaining counters in other districts will be opened with 100 per cent workforce from Nov 8 in line with Sabah’ transition to Phase Four NRP).

SESB Senior General Manager (Asset Management) Idris Mohd Noor said the opening of counters in the three main areas with full workforce capacity was to meet the demand of consumers who wanted to meet face to face at the service counters.

He also clarified that when Sabah was in Phase Two NRP, all SESB counters have been opened to the public starting July 5

“The operation of the counters at that time was at 50 per cent of the capacity of SESB staff and two counters were opened to process supply applications from the public. Meanwhile, for Labuan, the counter has been fully operational in accordance with Phase Four NRP,” he said in a media statement on Monday.

Idris said this when commenting on a statement issued by shop owners and tenants at the Putatan Commercial Canter urging SESB to expedite the approval process for power supply applications at the premises.

According to Idris, SESB has already received two applications for non -domestic supplies from the owners/tenants of the premises on Oct 15 and the supply has been connected to consumers.

In the meantime, Idris said users can also utilise SESB’s MySESB mobile application which was launched last month.

Users can access their electricity account registered with SESB, check and make electricity bill payments online without having to go to the SESB counters.

Users do not have to worry because payment through this application is auto updated on the same day the payment is made. In addition, this application also allows users to monitor the accounts registered under the username or surname of the user.

“Making new applications, account termination, name change and meter transfer application can also be made, even the status of the application can also be monitored by users from time to time only through mySESB wherever you are,” he added.

Consumers and members of the public who wish to deal at the SESB counters are encouraged to make an appointment through mySESB or through the Online Appointment System which can be accessed through https://temujanji. sesb.com

“The Appointment Centre system is used as one of the efforts to control the number of users coming to SESB offices in an effort to support the country’s recovery plan from the Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.

Users can also call SESB Careline at 15454 or 088-515000 or WhatsApp 019- 852 5427 for further inquiries on SESB services.
