Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini admits playing on Young Boys' plastic pitch offers a unique challenge.

La Dea are in Switzerland tonight for their latest Champions League group clash.

“The synthetic is an anomaly, it's played only here, in the Champions League, while there are no other matches in the league," Gasperini said.

“It's different in the way you play, the way the ball bounces, the speed of the ball. We are not happy with this, but at the same time it's not an excuse for us. This is an important game where the result counts."

He also said: “We have recovered everyone a bit, we might have [Robin] Gosens back and perhaps also for Saturday against Juventus.

“Soon [Hans] Hateboer too, finally.

“There was a moment of great emergency, but the lads' ability to adapt came out. The five substitutions have changed a lot, having everyone available is finally an advantage."
