Spain coach Luis Enrique has happily joked about rumours linking him with the vacant Manchester United manager's job.

“Is it April Fools today?" asked Enrique, smiling, at a charity padel tournament organised by Juan Carlos Unzue, his former assistant.

The Spain coach was responding to rumours that Cristiano Ronaldo wanted him appointed as Manchester United manager.

“I'm already at the biggest team in Spain, the national team. We have 5,000 players, I have the players I want. Is there anything bigger?

“The future can change in 15 seconds. Now I've got to enjoy myself and I am happy where I am."
