Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici was left furious during their defeat at home to Manchester United on Saturday.

The dismal result proved to be the final straw for coach Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked on Monday morning after just four months following a string of concerning performances - with fans calling for the Portuguese to be axed.

Paratici and chairman Daniel Levy were both alarmed by the nature of the defeat and felt the impact of supporters' discontent, and opted to pull the trigger on their new coach after just ten Premier League games.

Football.London says Paratici is said to have stormed out of his seat during the game following Edison Cavani's goal to make it 2-0 and did not return after being left furious by the team's performance.

Paratici, who joined Spurs alongside Levy this summer after leaving Juventus, is working on a deal to appoint former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte as Nuno's successor.
