Barcelona defender Oscar Mingueza feels replacing former coach Ronald Koeman with Xavi is a positive move.

Koeman actually gave Mingueza his opportunity in the senior team during the 2020/21 season, yet the Spaniard was quick to suggest that a number of players weren't happy with the situation regarding the Dutch coach this term.

"The dressing room needed a change, the atmosphere we needed didn't exist, people were not happy," Mingueza said.

"When you're not happy and things don't work out, you need a change.

"I'm sure that with Xavi we will do very well, people believe what he says and this is very important."
