Newcastle United's search for a technical director appointment continues to rumble on.
Chronicle Live reports Toon manager Eddie Howe was asked about Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards at his unveiling and stressed he knew 'nothing' about his future.
It was not the only time Howe was quizzed about the prospect of linking up with a technical director and the Newcastle head coach admitted it was 'very important for a manager to have those relationships as strong as possible' after previously working with friend Richard Hughes at Bournemouth.
David Webb, who was Bournemouth's head of recruitment for a period during Howe's spell on the South Coast, believes a sporting director would provide the ideal support for the Newcastle boss in what is already a 'very coach-dominated environment'.
