Thierry Small is delighted to have scored his first goal for Southampton B in victory over Aston Villa.
It's his first strike since joining the club from Everton over the summer, arriving at the south-coast as one of the hottest names in youth football with a professional debut for the Toffees under Carlo Ancelotti.
“Yeah it's a great feeling, special moment for me," Small told the club website, “I've been getting my head down and working hard so it was nice to get the goal.
"Just pure passion, when it hit the back of the net, obviously everyone loves scoring but that one meant a lot to me."
He continued: “Every minute I get to play for Southampton is a great achievement for me so I'm happy to help the B team when I need to get minutes.
“I didn't do a pre-season so every minute for me is vital for me to play, so it's great to be a part of the game today and to play well.
“It's been great at the club, I've said before my first initial feeling was that it's a family club so I'm enjoying every moment and working hard."
