Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan was left delighted with their 2-0 win at Manchester United.

Pep Guardiola's side took an early lead in the seventh minute through an Eric Bailly own goal and grabbed the second before the interval through Bernardo Silva.

"It was really fun actually, quite enjoyable," he said. "It was a great first half where we could have scored even more goals. It could have been three or four at half time. Their keeper made some incredible saves in the first half, it was great.

"Second half it was about being patient, keep the ball, keep possession, pass the ball, get into a rhythm and not give them any chances. I can't remember them having a chance in the second half.

"The way we approached the game and played throughout the 90 minutes was impressive, now we have to maintain that after the international break."
