Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof is out of their Champions League clash at Atalanta.

The club confirmed the Sweden international - who was part of the back three that started the 3-0 win at Tottenham on Saturday - has not travelled to Italy after picking up a knock in training on Monday.

It comes as a blow to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but has not resulted in the fully-fledged crisis United would have faced had he suffered the injury while Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane - his centre-back partners at the weekend - were still out.

ut the injury to the 27-year-old Swede - who has played the full 90 minutes in all three of United's European fixtures so far this term - could force Solskjaer to change his system at the back once more, though Eric Bailly is a like-for-like replacement.
