Former Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin says he was set up by his former teammates when Rafa Benitez was in charge.

Voronin infamously upset Benitez on New Year's Day when sleeping through a training session.

Asked if it ended his relationship with Benitez, he recalled on YouTube channel 'Answer in Brothers': "I think yes.

"Rather not to my playing qualities, but to my professionalism. He is a strict man in himself. But the Spaniards are to blame. They set me up.

"They walked with me, then went to training, but they did not wake me up. Torres, Pepe Reina, Fabio Aurelio. The latter is Brazilian, but he was also involved."
