AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli admitted frustration after their 1-1 draw with Champions League opponents Porto.

Luis Diaz had Porto 1-0 ahead before an equaliser came via a Chancel Mbemba own goal.

“We could've done better, as especially in the first half we lacked sharpness in our decision-making," Pioli said.

“If the opponents press that high and defend with such a high line, we have to seek through balls and we didn't do it with enough precision.

“I cannot complain about the second half, in terms of hunger, energy and chances created. Unfortunately, the level to get a victory in Europe is extremely high and we didn't do enough."

Asked if they can still get out of their group, Pioli also said: “In order to deserve it, you need to win games. Porto got great results in their last five away games and don't forget they knocked Juventus out of the Champions League last season. We need to be more consistent.

Porto deserve credit and we deserve blame. We should've shimmied and spread the Porto defence, instead we ended up going where they wanted us to. We were more organised in the second half and Porto's intensity level dropped."
