Leeds United U23 coach Mark Jackson says international week is a big chance for the academy players.
In an interview to BBC Radio Leeds in which he was asked about losing players to international duty, he answered that the solution knowing which players are ready to step up a level.
Jackson explained: "One thing I've learnt in my short space of time being U23s manager and working closely with the manager and his staff is the importance of understanding what is going on below you in the age groups.
“Which players are coming through, which players are ready to step up, which players are the potential ones who we need to look at.
“I think that's really important, rather than just asking opinions and stuff like that - actually seeing the players play, watching videos of them."
