Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira says Conor Gallagher and Marc Guehi must work harder to break into the England.
On-loan Chelsea midfielder Gallagher was seen as an outside chance for this week's squad.
Vieira said: "It's always good when your name is out there, and his name and other names have been mentioned which is a step forward.
"It's important for them to perform well for us and that will allow them to go to the national team."
Asked again on Gallagher, along with defender Guehi, Vieira added: "They know they didn't achieve what they want to. There's still a long way to go. They are still working hard. That's why I believe they'll one day make it."
