Watford are lining up Craig Shakespeare for manager Claudio Ranieri's coaching setup.
Shakespeare was not directly mentioned in the statement that Aston Villa had sacked manager Dean Smith.
However, Football Insider claims that Shakespeare has left the club with Smith, and will be looking for a new position.
He may immediately get a Premier League job, as Ranieri wants him at Watford to help the team avoid relegation.
Shakespeare was assistant to Ranieri at Leicester City when they won the Premier League in 2016.
