Villarreal coach Unai Emery was delighted with victory over Young Boys.
The 2-0 win was earned by goals from Etienne Capoue and Arnaut Danjuma as their hopes of progress from their Champions League received a boost.
Emery said, "With today's victory we can reaffirm that we have a chance of getting into the top two in this Champions League."
Meanwhile, Capoue stated: "I'm happy for the victory. We've taken a big step forward in the group and now we have to stay focused on the next two matches.
"It was very tough, Young Boys are a difficult team, but we got a well-deserved win."
