France coach Didier Deschamps insists Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is a worthy candidate for the Ballon d'Or.
The France striker is among the candidates for the award.
Asked about Benzema's chances, Deschamps declared: "It's a prestigious individual award.
"He's a very serious candidate to win it. Of course it's something that I wish for him (to win it)."
Benzema is back working with Deschamps this week as France return to World Cup qualifying action.
