Karim Benzema was happy to make history with Real Madrid in their victory over Shakhtar Donetsk.
Benzema scored the 1,000th and 1,001st goals for Real Madrid in the European Cup/Champions League.
He said after the win: “If I had Real Madrid's 1000th goal in Europe in mind? Honestly, no. I wanted to win the match, score or make an assist and help my team always. After all the better, I go a little further into the history of the club. But the most important thing tonight was the three points because it was a very difficult game.
