Arsenal defender Gabriel has earned his first call-up to the Brazil squad.
The 23-year-old was selected after Benfica's Lucas Verissimo was forced to withdraw due to injury.
Gabriel has previously played for Brazil at Under-23 and Under-20 level.
He could make his debut against Colombia on Friday and even face rivals Argentina next week.
