Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen admits he's been left underwhelmed by England's World Cup qualifying campaign.

Owen was commenting after watching England qualifying for the 2022 World Cup with a 10-0 win over San Marino.

He posted to social media: "Rapidly falling out of love with watching international football barring the big tournaments.

"I think a lot of people feel the same way. Half of these games are absolutely pointless.

"A restructure is needed."
