Newcastle United great Alan Shearer has welcomed Eddie Howe's appointment as new manager.
The Toon are second bottom of the Premier League and are without a win in their opening 11 Premier League fixtures.
Howe faces a huge task ahead of him as he attempts to transform Newcastle's season.
As things stand, the Magpies are five points adrift from safety and have one of the worst defensive records in the division.
Shearer posted to social media: "Welcome. Good luck Eddie. We all hope you can bring us some much needed drive and ambition."
