Newcastle United management are seeking to overhaul their academy.

The Daily Mail says Newcastle's new regime has been reaching out to agents who have large numbers of academy players on their books.

It is thought that one of the first areas identified for improvement — other than the obvious — is the youth set-up at St James' Park.

In keeping with the theme, former Sunderland Under 23 boss Elliott Dickman was named coach at Newcastle of their Under 23 team last week.
