Aston Villa boss Dean Smith insists only fine margins have worked against them.
Villa go to Southampton tonight.
"We're in a high performing elite sport and within those games there have been marginal moments which transpired," said Smith.
"We've made some small mistakes in games that have cost us, we were missing five players for West Ham game.
"We're not far from turning it around and we're in determined mood.
"I've been concerned with the goals that we have been conceding. A lot of those goals are individual mistakes. There's a collective responsibility there."
