
RANAU: A four-wheel drive vehicle caught fire at KM 9, Jalan Ranau-Kundasang on Sunday night.
Ranau Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Ridwan Mohd Taib said an emergency call was received at 8.55pm.
“A Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) vehicle and an Emergency Care Rescue Service (EMRS) vehicle rushed to the scene along with seven Ranau BBP members led by Operations Officer, Becket Gumat.
“Arriving at the location, a distance of 11km from BBP Ranau, it was found that an Isuzu Invader had burned 70 per cent.
“The extinguishing operation was carried out using a flow of first aid channel and water from the fire engine,” he said, Monday.
According to Ridwan, no victims were reported involved in the incident and the operation was bought under control at 9.20pm.
“After ensuring that there is no more danger, the operation ended at 9.21pm.
“The real cause of the incident and the amount of losses are still under investigation,” added Ridwan.
