So, about a few weeks ago, I was checking around on the horoscope readings and got curious about the horoscope forecast, predictions and what information I’d want to indulge my curiosity in; as I think it would seem quite obvious that astrology is one of my biggest interests.
A disclaimer, however, do take most of this with a grain of salt, an open mind, an open heart and most of all just have fun and if you are just as invested as I am, you’d really be surprised with more than a pandora’s box full of interesting discoveries.
Moving forward, as I was reading through the horoscopes weeks ago, I remembered that around mid to late December was the beginning of the Capricorn season (of course, I also found this out by the notifications of some of my friends’ birthdays that fall on this month). I had a few interesting conversations with a few friends who were more knowledgeable in this, the conversations became a very in-depth insight into what the Capricorn season means for 2021 and for what will manifest and to expect by next year in 2022.
(And we all know how it’s been roughest to the rough and back to the roughest years we had circa 2020…)
This is really interesting to me, considering how December this year had started off full of unexpected but pleasant surprises for me and then later transitioned into challenges that I did not expect at all but what surprised me, even more, was that in spite of all that, I still managed very well somehow. It got really hard to some points where I really did consider quitting until I remember many times: Why am I doing this in the first place? What was the start and end goal here?
The next thing I know, rather than quitting, I started planning and on the side, plan out my strategies on not only how to end this year at ease as much as I can but also assuring that the beginning of next year will at least give a bit of window of insurance to fall back to.
I discussed all of this with a friend of mine, through the laughter and more discussions, I was then told: “Yup, this is very much the Capricorn spirit right there.”
There was a joke that since the goat represents the Capricorn sign, with the glory of the internet, one will find interesting pictures of not only goat climbing mountains but also goats pretty much even walking on edge of mountains, hills and climbing on cliffs that one… would not think is possible – even for a goat.
And I quote: “This is very much like the Capricorn. If you tell them something is impossible or that they really can’t do it, they’ll just glare at you and say ‘Watch me.‘”
So you might be thinking right now: What does this have to do with the Capricorn spirit from December 2021 to January 2022?
Do what you have to do, don’t wait on it
When December started rolling in, the first few weeks at first felt slightly slow but it became progressively better and busy: one personal development I would like to share was how I started really doing half the things off my to-do list that had been put on hold since October.
If I wait on it too long, I would not have gotten this far. I saw results in making sure that I felt the push to do what I have to do.
However, taking mental wellness into account, this is not so much about really pushing yourself to a crazy hustle than it is about having that determination and that motivation to really just do it.
Be prepared but be well prepared
The thing about the Capricorn season is also that usually… usually it does not really give you a break, at least from what I understand and what I have noticed especially in this year’s Capricorn season.
Take 2020 to 2021 for good examples: Nope, we have not been given much of a break.
So, imagine yourself as a goat, right? Right. So you’re climbing on a mountain top, you’re going to expect a lot of bumps and obstacles up that hill, the top of the mountain seems really far and almost impossible.
But you still want to go forward. Whatever the reason will be, you still want to go up that mountain.
The ‘does not give you a break’ part is true for any life circumstances but knowing so, will also give you the opportunities and time to plan on moving forward.
But don’t just think about moving forward unprepared!
It will be a lot of fun and you would be surprised with the results of strategizing on how to move forward (or in this instance: how to climb that mountain to the top).
It’s a good time to revisit new year resolutions
The reason why I wrote as ‘revisit’ is that I’m pretty sure for some or most of us, depending on whether we do a ‘year-end reflection’ or ‘new year resolutions or even both (I do both), it really goes hand-in-hand; and when I say ‘revisit’ is because it’s one of the natural habits to make new year resolutions when the new year begins, one could be writing it down as early as November, trying to prepare for December and then put all those resolutions into action in January; or one could already start writing them down in December and get them slowly check off in January.
However, that new year resolution could change, which is one of the biggest themes of the Capricorn season: There will be unexpected changes and just as best to be prepared for them.
Of course, we’re never going to actually know when those surprises will happen – they would not be surprises if… well, we’re not surprised by them, right?
But here’s to take note: It’s okay to go with the change.
Sometimes those changes will mean something. Do not have to be too excited about the changes but it’s good to keep in mind that changes do happen.
The new year resolution could change down the year in six months and that will not be such a bad thing.
But even when it does become bad, I personally would ask myself this: Okay, what do I do next?
To be really honest, I really do like the Capricorn season, there’s just something about it that really made me reflect and had me reconsider a lot of circumstances I’m going through and the results of my efforts to come this far – which is also one of the main reason why I wanted to share this with you.
Of course, you don’t have to be a goat to have that gung-ho ‘can do, will do’ spirit but try to believe in yourself and you will be fine.
I hope that with all that is said, I really wish everyone well into the new year with an abundance of hope and joy.
While you’re at it, give your Capricorn friends a good hug, pat, follow SOPs and stay safe!
