The Norwegian Football Federation are in talks with Brentford for coach Bernardo Cueva.
Known as the 'deadball doctor', Cueva is wanted by Norway coach Stale Solbakken for their Euro qualifying campaign.
The NFF wish to take Cueva on-loan from Brentford during international games.
Solbakken explained: "He will probably continue.
"We have received a clear signal from Brentford to negotiate with him and hope he will join the next qualifier.
"Brentford had to give up their best expert to (Manchester) City and (Pep) Guardiola. Then Arsenal took their expert number two, and Bernardo came in as number three."
