Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has declared Joel Matip will NOT be making himself available for Cameroon's African Cup of Nations campaign.
Having not played for Cameroon since 2015, there was talk of Matip ending his exile for AFCON to support new Cameroon Football Federation president Samuel Eto'o.
While there's been no word from the player, Klopp declared yesterday: "He does not envisage it (to return with his national team).
"I spoke to him and he said no. It's just news all over the world with nothing behind it."
Cameroon are hosts of this season's AFCON.
