Real Zaragona defender Alejandro Frances is being watched by Barcelona.
Sport says Barca have been scouting the 19 year-old this season, who is rated among the best players in Spain's Segunda Division.
Frances has a deal to 2024 and is rated in the €5-6m class by Zaragoza's board.
For the moment, Barca do not have the available funds to firm up their interest and instead will maintain a watching brief.
Zaragoza would be prepared to sell for less than Frances' €8m buyout clause.
