Newcastle United winger Ryan Fraser insists he deserved a penalty in their 4-0 defeat to Manchester City.
Fraser was brought down by City goalkeeper Ederson, but referee Martin Atkinson was unmoved by the appeal as Joao Cancelo emerged with possession.
A VAR check decided against overturning the on-field decision, and Fraser could not hide his disbelief at the decision in his post-match interview following the 4-0 defeat.
He told NUFC TV: "It's a pen, simple as that.
"Even if the ball is getting away, he has taken me out. If somebody else had the ball and I just volleyed someone in the middle of the pitch, is that not a free-kick?
"I don't really get it. Even the Liverpool one at 2-1 down, the moment for West Ham against Arsenal, if he's getting a pen for that then they've got to give me mine.
"If they don't give that, I'm all for it. Don't give me mine against Liverpool. That's two pens now I feel I should have had.
"Everyone has got their own opinions, but the referees need to be more accountable. It's just one decision one week and you're thinking how is that a pen, and then it happens the next week and it's not a pen.
"No-one gets it. Players don't get it, managers don't get it, and it's how it is."
