Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu was very happy with their effort against West Ham United.

The Gunners got a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe.

The game allowed Arsenal to move into the top four in the Premier League, and Tomiyasu knows it was not easy to beat a side as dangerous as West Ham.

He told the club website on the game: "It was an important game for us to get fourth place, so we showed our passion and we took three points, and fourth place, so I am happy with the result."

On getting into fourth spot, he added: "We have to play every game to get three points, but now we have to protect fourth place and go higher, so let's focus on the next one."

On the challenge of taking on West Ham, he finished: "Like I say, it was a tough game for us but we showed our passion, authority and we wanted the three points a lot so I am happy with the result."
