Mohammad Adib Akmal Mohd. Sauffi, 29, pleaded guilty to the charges, in which he was accused of threatening his father, Mohd. Sauffi Baharudin, 65 if he didn't come home with the burger he wanted.

The punishment for the crime provides for a maximum imprisonment of two years or with a fine or both on conviction. However, the court was asked to impose a more lenient sentence as the accused is only earning roughly RM1000 a month through his small business.

The Deputy Public Prosecutor made a remark regarding the case, Anis Farhah Ahmad Hilmi, "As a child, the accused should take care of the father instead of threatening him,"

The Deputy Public Prosecutor had previously asked the court to impose an appropriate punishment as a lesson because the victim, in this case, is the biological father of the accused.

On the day of the incident, the victim received a call from his son, ordering him to buy him a burger and to return home immediately, or he'd burn down the house. Fearing the situation, the victim lodged a police report.
