Bournemouth captain Steve Cook is interesting Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe.
The Sun says Bournemouth's veteran skipper, 30, is back in the Cherries side under Scott Parker after a spell on the sidelines but Howe knows what he offers.
Howe wants Prem experience to beat the drop but James Tarkowski and Ben Mee would cost fortunes from rivals Burnley.
Cook joined Bournemouth in 2012 in a bargain £150,000 deal, following a successful loan.
Immediately, he helped the club gain promotion to the Championship.
Then, in the 2014-15 season the club made the leap to the Premier League.
However, after five years in the top flight Cook was relegated with Howe at the helm.
He has played 386 games for Bournemouth, but hasn't been as influential this season.
