Manchester City have passed on signing Philippe Coutinho as part of a player-plus-cash deal for Barcelona target Ferran Torres.
Sport says Coutinho has been offered to City as part of a potential deal for Torres in the January transfer window, but the Etihad club have rejected the chance to sign the Brazilian.
The report goes on to claim that the decision had made with the view that any deal for their young striker will be financed solely by money.
Coutinho left Liverpool for Barcelona in a club-record deal back in January 2018, but has endured a difficult time in Spain as he struggled to recreate his Anfield form.
