Villarreal coach Unai Emery was delighted with their 3-2 win at Champions League opponents Atalanta.
The Yellow Submarine were 3-0 ahead at one stage, but held on to reach the round of 16.
Emery later said: "You have seen how difficult it is to play against Atalanta, they are among the elite of Italian football, they play beautiful football, they are in good shape. Against this team you have to work in a determined way. We knew we could not relax when we were 3-0 up, we still had to be careful, focused.
"In the Champions League we have found good regularity, credibility, the confidence that is needed. Let's feel proud. It is an excellent opportunity for us to celebrate. In the next phase we will have very strong opponents.
