BELURAN: Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd (SESB) has been asked to expedite the construction of transformers in Pekan Baru Botition.
As justification, taking into account the increase in business premises in the town of Botition, Sugut State Assemblyman Datuk James Ratib, said the need for these transformers was very urgent.
“Many properties, especially electrical goods for business purposes other than private property are damaged due to electricity supply that does not meet the needs and is unstable.
“Traders suffer a lot of losses when electrical goods and raw materials are damaged,” he said.
James, who is also Sabah Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, said this when speaking at the Christmas celebration in Kg. Barayong, Telupid, at the weekend.
According to James, this problem had previously been raised with the management of SESB but any action on the matter has yet to be seen.
He added that SESB had also agreed and promised to visit the proposed construction site several times but until now the promise has simply remained a promise.
“This problem is very urgent and SESB should not hesitate,” he said while demanding the SESB Client’s Charter which is Committed and Promising to Provide Efficient, Quality and Excellent Services to SESB Customers.
James urged the management of SESB to take immediate action to tackle the difficulties that have assailed the traders and residents involved.
“Don’t let the people lose faith in SESB,” he said.
