KUALA LUMPUR – As Malaysia records one of the worst flash floods in years, displacing 40,000 and claiming the lives of many.

While the government has been relatively slow to mobilise aid, citizens across the nation have rallied to help flood victims.

Recently, a video of a supercar was seen evacuating stranded victims from affected flood areas in Taman Sri Muda. Additionally, the vehicle was also used to transport food supply.

The vehicle has been identified as a limited edition Brabus Mercedes-AMG G7000 6×6 with its retail price at over RM 4 million.

The video quickly garnered over 100k views and 11k likes at press time, with many expressing their gratitude toward the kind Malaysian.

Philanthropist from Kelantan

Chinese news outlet Sin Chew Daily reported that the owner of the car is Datuk Sri Sunny Ung, a philanthropist and businessman from Kelantan.

He told the press that this vehicle was suited to chart through high levels of water due to its high ground clearance.

Datuk Sunny emphasized that members of the public should focus on providing flood relief instead of his prized possession.

Joined forces with Harith Iskandar

The Kelantanese revealed that he volunteered the rescue mission under charity organization “The Hope Branch” which was founded by Malaysian actor and comedian Harith Iskandar.

I have been here for four consecutive days, and I will still come every other day,” he said.

He complained that the authorities were too slow as many victims were still trapped in the area waiting for rescue.

He criticized the authorities for being slow to respond to the natural disaster, stating that there are still victims stranded and awaiting rescue.

‘Humble and helpful person’

In the comment section on Twitter, many expressed their appreciation towards Datuk Sri Sunny Ung.

One said that the car was created for the exact purpose.

Many also shared that Datuk Sri Sunny is a kindhearted person and ‘done quite a lot to help the oprhanages’ while keeping a low profile.
