Barcelona coach Xavi says they must do what they can to keep Gavi.
Gavi has a deal until 2023 with a €50m release clause with many European rivals eyeing hm.
Barcelona have been working on the renewal for some time and Xavi was asked for a progress report in his press conference.
“We have to renew him already, if we need we'll get the money between us," joked the coach. “We can't lose these type of players. They have to be the base of the future.
“I understand that the club are working very hard for Gavi's renewal, that's fundamental for the team."
