Tottenham and Aston Villa are eyeing Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie for the January market.

Gazzetta dello Sport says Spurs boss Antonio Conte is a huge admirer of the USA international and has likened McKennie in private to his former Bianconeri midfield enforcer Arturo Vidal.

Conte instructed scouts to fly in to Turin to watch Juventus take on Atalanta on Saturday, only for the 23-year-old to come off injured.

He lasted only 64 minutes after sustaining a knee injury and was replaced by Moise Kean, although the problem is not thought to be serious.

Aston Villa are also thought to be keen on signing McKennie despite receiving a snub from the American in 2020, and had their own scouts in attendance keeping tabs on the midfielder's display.
