
Kota Kinabalu: A car wash worker pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court, Friday, to housebreaking and theft.
Idzham Loh, 20, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles to breaking into a house at Taman Indah Permai, Sepanggar, Manggatal and stealing a unit of drone and a watch at 12.50pm on Sept 26.
The court adjourned the case to Jan 18 for sentencing pending Idzham’s social report being prepared.
Earlier, the court heard from the prosecution that the house owner lodged a police report at 3.04pm on Sept 26 reporting her house were broken into and several valuables went missing.
Based on the report, police arrest Idzham at Putra Jaya Telipok.
The court also heard that during investigation, police managed to extract fingerprints at the crime scene which matched Idzham’s fingerprints.
Idzham was charged under Section 457 of the Penal Code, which provides imprisonment up to five years and fine. If the offence includes theft, the jail term could be extended to 14 years and the repeat offence also carries fine or whipping.
Meanwhile, a warehouse keeper was charged with disposing of stolen properties.
Huzaimiee Matsin, 31, was accused of selling five stolen bicycles belonging to Syarikat Swee Tai Cycle Sdn Bhd at 8.45pm on Nov 21 at Ting Yang Enterprise Sdn Bhd, Jalan Tuaran.
No plea was recorded from Huzaimiee, who was at the central lock up, after the charge was read out to him via video conferencing.
The charge under Section 414 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to seven years or fine or both. on conviction.
Lovely fixed Jan 18 for Huzaimiee’s plea to be taken in open court.
Huzaimiee was offered bail at RM1,200 in two sureties. Inspector Kelvan Elson Maik prosecuted.
