Kota Kinabalu: The log export ban imposed by the previous Warisan-Plus State Government in May 2018 – which was criticised especially by firms involved in growing plantation timber as they were already committed to orders from foreign buyers – will be lifted, Sabah Chief Forest Conservator Datuk Frederick Kugan confirmed.
A circular issued on Dec. 21 stated that the Limited Log Export programme, which allows eligible parties to export logs from Sabah, is effective beginning Jan. 3, 2022.
