Newcastle United have made Dwight Gayle available for loan in January.

The Sun says West Brom - where he previously enjoyed a successful loan spell in 2018-19 - and Nottingham Forest are interested, but wages could be a sticking point.

It is claimed Gayle is currently on a huge £40,000 a week at Newcastle, despite playing just 21 minutes of Premier League football so far this season.

West Brom are currently fourth in the Championship and eyeing promotion back to the Premier League, and boss Valerian Ismael is said to see Gayle as another goalscoring option for his side in the second half of the season.

Forest, meanwhile, have also registered an interest in the former Crystal Palace and Peterborough man, but could be hindered by wages.
