Girl found drowned in K’batangan

KINABATANGAN: A 12-year-old girl was found drowned in Sungai Tagas Sukau, Kinabatangan, on Sunday.

According to Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Department Chief PPgB Nurul Azlan Shah Jamalludin, they received a distress call at 10.56am.

She said the department rushed to the scene and mounted a surface search and rescue operation for the girl with villagers.

“The girl was found lifeless some 150 metres from the place where she reportedly fell around 5.40pm. “The body of the girl, identified as Putri binti Arnil, was handed over to police for further action," she added.

The operation ended on 6.30pm.
