
PENAMPANG: A total of 82 patrons at an entertainment outlet at Jalan Penampang Baru, here, were issued with RM123,000 compounds after being found violating the standard operating procedures (SOP) under Phase 4 of the Covid-19 National Recovery Plan early Thursday.
A team of officers and members of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Penampang District Police Headquarters conducted a four-hour raid on the outlet starting at about 1am.
Penampang District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Haris Ibrahim said the raid was carried out following public complaints that the outlet was operating until late in the morning.
He said inspection found that music was played and many people crowded over tables, which were against the SOPs.
