PSG striker Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid have agreed to take a break until after their Champions League round of 16 tie.

Mbappe will be free to negotiate a pre-contract with Real Madrid from January 1.

However, no decision will be taken over the striker's next move until the conclusion of the blockbuster tie, reports AS.

With the showdown between two of world football's heavyweights taking place in mid-February and early March, nothing will be signed until after then.

The same outlet have added that this is to avoid suggestions that the ace has 'divided loyalties', despite him having made his desire to leave clear this season.

It is believed that Madrid have 'total belief' that Mbappe wants to join them, and the chaos both on and off the field at PSG has only increased their bullishness.
