Aston Villa have entered a partnership agreement with Egyptian club ZED FC.

ZED FC, who are owned by Naguib Sawiris and his son Onsi, confirmed today (Wednesday) that the two clubs are set to link up.

Onsi, who is the nephew of Villa co-owner Nassef, told ONTime Sport TV that the move will see the club's young talent head to England to train with Villa.

“Young people are the most important thing to us," he said.

"We're following the Egyptian state's plan to take care of young people and support them to reach their highest potential.

“We have reached an initial agreement with Aston Villa, and we will send a number of young players to spend some time there, to learn about the European system."

ZED FC have won acclaim for their development of young players and were crowned the best youth academy in Africa at the 2021 Globe Soccer Awards.
