Greuther Furth coach Stefan Leitl has admitted his admiration for Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius.

Karius, currently training with the Reds though not registered to play, is being linked with a return home to Germany at Greuther Furth.

Asked about the prospect of signing the former Mainz No1, Leitls said: "Loris Karius is undoubtedly a very, very good goalkeeper, but I'm not involved in names or speculation."

Greuther are in the market for a new keeper after Marius Funk suffered a season ending knee injury.

Leitl added: "The fact is that because of Marius' injury, we of course exchange ideas and also look around to see if we still want to do something in the goalkeeping position."
