Ajax coach Erik ten Hag admits he's considering his future.

The 51-year-old is understood to be in contention to take charge of Manchester United on a permanent basis next summer after Ralf Rangnick's interim spell comes to an end.

Ten Hag, who was reluctant to depart the Dutch outfit midway through the season, has confirmed that he is keen to test himself at a foreign club.

He said, "I think I'm ready for it [to move to a top foreign club].

"I would be happy to take up that challenge.

"But I'm not chasing it. If it turns out that that step will never come, I will not say that my coaching career has failed.

"But I think I have sufficient competences to take on that challenge."
