“Out with the old, in with the new”, right?
Every year we tend to inherit or adopt certain traits that we may or may not know is not good for us. Even if you don’t realize it, it’s there. Your family and friends may see it, just not you.
It’s all right if you did not notice it. Sometimes, there are certain negative traits I’ve taken on over the years. I wouldn’t even realize or notice it until someone told me about it. Regardless of whether if you have noticed it or not, it’s all right.
Here are some traits you should remove from your life.
1. Always complaining a lot
We all get that there are certain things in life we do not like. You will find the urge to want to complain about it to your friends and family members. Perhaps you are trying to get certain things off your chest, which isn’t a bad thing.
However, some people do it to the extent of complaining about it. Don’t do it like that. When you complain, some people don’t like it. It’s because they think you are unable to handle yourself and your surrounding people and environment.
Always complaining will quite likely drive away your significant other. They run away from you because they can’t stand your constant complaining. You don’t want that happening to you, do you?
2. Having negative thoughts and views
This is a major bummer to a lot of people who work around negative people. People with negative thoughts and views tend to tire people out. It drives people away. People generally do not like being around a negative Nancy, and that’s just the truth.
Does it not bother you if you constantly have negative thoughts? Does it not wear you out? Let’s be honest with ourselves. Having constant negative thoughts mean that you will quite likely not have the space for positive thoughts.
Do you know what happens to people who constantly have negative thoughts? It may lead to complaining. Constant complaining will lead to you not having friends. Stop having negative thoughts and views.
3. Having a lack of personal hygiene

It is the current year already and some people still do not have a sense of personal hygiene. It can be bad body odour, bad breath, and even stinking feet. If you have a medical condition, then you can ignore this point.
However, if you are a working adult and do not have the money to buy even budget soaps, then what are you doing with yourself? What are you doing with your life? You don’t have to buy the most expensive soaps, the most expensive toothbrushes, or the most expensive toothpaste for yourself.
It’s good, however, if you invest a minimal amount of budget to buy soap, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. Nobody likes a person who has just stepped out of a dumpster. It is bad social skills, to be frank. If you sweat a lot, it’s all right. It just means you will need to buy deodorant to cover the smell up.
4. Always on your gadgets and never being in the moment
We all have our busy schedules with work, family, and whatnot. I get that as we need to work to make money to feed ourselves. However, when you are out with your friends and family members, perhaps it’s a good thing to put away your gadgets for a couple of hours?
Imagine always on your gadgets while you are out with your friends or family members. Maybe for a couple of minutes, it’s fine. When you are constantly on your gadgets, even in company, then it’s frankly really rude.
Put down that gadget for a couple of hours. Your entire life doesn’t depend on it unless you are being chased by a killer.
5. Not being responsible for the mistakes you have made
You may be a very proud person who cannot lower yourself to say even apologize. Imagine making a mistake and getting someone else to clean it up after you. You may not want to apologize, and that is all right. For you.
It’s not all right for the people who clean up after your mistakes. However, you should know that sooner or later your mistakes will catch up with you. Life has a funny way of showing and paying back the mistakes you have made. Just make sure that you are not one of those people.
As an afterthought, it’s not hard to say sorry either. You don’t have to mean it but by saying it, you can help keep the peace for and with the people you deal with.
Bottom Line
There are plenty of bad habits to discard as you grow older. Every year passes you by. Do you want to let your bad habits define you? Pretty sure you don’t.
