Tottenham are considering making a bid for Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne next month.

La Repubblica says Tottenham are ready to make a move for Insigne in January.

Insigne, who was in the Italy squad that won Euro 2020, is out of contract at the end of the season and the report says Spurs have their sights on him as a potential low-cost option.

Antonio Conte worked with Insigne when he was Italy manager from 2014 to 2016 and is said to be admirer of the 30-year-old.

Talks between Insigne and Napoli over a new contract are said to have stalled.

Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, his agent Vincenzo Pisacane said recently: “We can't say [what happens next], in football everything can change in ten minutes."

Asked specifically about contact with Spurs, Pisacane added: “I won't have contact with anyone until January. On this I am very firm: from the 2nd [of January], then, everything will change."
