Closure of 3 KK public parks

Kota Kinabalu: City Hall (DBKK) will temporarily close three public parks starting today (Dec 31) at 1pm until 6am on Jan 1, 2022.

Mayor Datuk Noorliza Awang Alip said a notice of temporary closue of the public parks has been issued on Likas Bay Public Park, Teluk Likas Public Park 2 and Tanjung Aru Beach 1.

She said the measure is to prevent the spread of Covid-19, in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) under Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).

Noorliza said the public are advised not to visit and use the parks during the closure period to reduce the spread of the virus.

Today (Dec 31) is New Year’s Eve and normally people would gather at those parks until the clock strikes 12am to mark the New Year 2022.
